March 30th, 2008 - What A Difference A Day Makes

Unfortunately we awoke to grey clouds and drizzle - not much later, the heavens opened and any hopes of gardening, fixing fences, mending shed roofs and rotovating were totally out of the question.

Instead, we took cover outside and continued with our preparation for the summer season with more seed planting.

With a team effort of Dan filling the pots with seed compost (yhep, shovelling sh*t again!!!) and Tracey planting the seeds, the job was quickly carried out.

More tomato seeds were planted as the last batch hadn't really germinated apart from the odd one or two.

Basil, chives, cabbages, courgettes, aubergines, green, red & yellow peppers and pumpkins were all planted in pots and seed trays. On top of that, we also planted a few rows of carrots in the polytunnel.

Although it was not the days gardening we had anticipated it was still a good days work and it all went towards helping acheive our ambition of producing all our own food.
