May 17th, 2008 - How Much?!?!?!? Keen to provide a safe haven for this years poultry we made a trip to the local builders merchants to purchase 150 metres of chicken wire.
After an exhausting and fruitless search at no less than 4 outlets, we couldn't believe that no-one stocked bog standard chicken wire.
The only wire we could find that was suitable was absolutely extortionate!
Last year when we bought some, we paid around €25 per roll - this year, the closest we could find cost over €80!!!
Returning home gobsmacked and quite worried, Tracey pointed out that we had 3 options :
1 - pay the price and put up with it
2 - find an alternative solution
3 - don't keep our own poultry and buy it from the supermarket
Option 3 is a real no-no, so we've got to find an alternative fencing solution that will keep the birds in and the stoats out! View The Blog Read All Chicken Stories |
