30th May, 2008 - Sox Learns About The Birds & Bees

With a few hours sunshine, the bale of straw had dried out sufficiently so it was time to muck out the rabbits.

When there is just one rabbit per cage it can be termed as "cleaning out" the rabbits. But with as many as 8 or 9 to a cage (the babies have to stay with mum until 8 weeks old) it can only be described as "mucking out"!!!

Given last weeks shock, before lifting the cover off of the straw Dan arms himself with a spade and thwacks the bale several times to ward off any 5 foot snakes that may be nestled inside!

Now, there were no snakes, but what Dan did find was Bunty's missing baby who'd escaped a few days earlier. He quickly scooped it up and returned it back to the fold.

Bunty (aka the woman who lived in a shoe) hadn't even noticed that one of her babies had gone missing.

With all the rabbits and babies nestled in their clean cages, it was time for Rocky to meet Sox.

It wasn't exactly love at first sight and Sox wasn't going to give up her honour without a fight!

Rocky on the other hand, had other ideas (like most men!) and obviously promised her the world (men, again!!!) and the rest as they say is history!!!
