18th June, 2008 - Here We Go Again

Within minutes of the turkeys being in the pound together and coming out of "cardboard city" they were trying to establish their pecking order.

At this point, the inevitable happened - first blood was drawn...we had a casualty!

So, it was a quick dash round to the other side of the bird cage, so that the injured turkey could be put into our isolation pen (a.k.a "A&E")

Whilst one of our favourite meats to eat, turkeys are our least favourite to raise - they are ugly, aggressive and cause so much bother.

We're just hoping that with their new enclosure, this year's batch will be less destructive than last year...we'll let you know!
