20th June, 2008 - So Much Done Once the bird pound was safely netted the 4 of us set off to weed the veggie patch and fruit cage.

Matt & Caitlin quickly made in-roads into the weeds with their hoes, while Dan & Tracey did the fine detail with trowels (although at one point, Dan did get out a petrol strimmer to speed things up - either that or he just got bored!)
With enthusiastic, young and energetic assistance, the veggie patch was quickly turned over.
In fact, in a matter of hours Matt & Caitlin had the walk way surrounding the crops weed free. Hopefully, if the summer remains dry the weeds in these areas won't come back.
Keen to carry on helping, our willing workers then planted out swiss chard, tomatoes, melons, cucumbers, butternut squashes and brussel sprouts.

With plenty of energy left (ahh, the joy of youth!) Matt & Caitlin were keen to undertake another task and so they set about repairing two rabbit hutch doors, which now gives us a full compliment of 10 hutches! View The Blog Read All Veggie Patch Stories |
