Despite paying ten times the budget amount on bird netting and spending two weeks in putting the cage together it has taken no time at all for the turkeys & chickens to peck it to pieces!

There are so many 'holes' it looks like a torn pair of fishnet stockings!!

What's more is that each morning, the birds rearrange themselves and we regularly find the ducks in with the chickens and the chickens in with the turkeys. In fact, the only birds behaving themselves are the actual turkeys (unlike last year!!!)

Dan set off to do some repair work - if the chickens & turkeys could peck their way thru' then so could a stoat or ferret quite easily.

Armed with some old chicken wire Dan re-inforced the lowest foot of the inside & outside panels.

Hopefully this will now be enough to keep them all safe.
