24th July, 2008 - Everything Is Coming Up Roses!

Its the time of year when we are achieving a good harvest each and every day.

Infact we could afford to give some courgettes to our good neighbour Francoise.

The potatoes were all dug up and stored in a sack in the cellar, whilst the tops proved good for composting.

The onions were also pulled up and laid out to dry.

Dan rotivated the bed once the potatoes and onions were lifted as this will soon be planted with leeks.

The radishes have seen better days and started to bolt so the green tops became rabbit food whilst the rest made a good snack for the pigs.

Tracey weeded amongst the sweetcorn, runner beans, pumpkins, asperagus, carrotts, turnip & swede.

More spring onion & carrot seeds were planted in what little room we have left in the veggie plot.
