22nd September, 2008 - Bunny Update For the first time since we've kept rabbits, all 3 mums have litters.
Sox, despite a worrying start, has lots of movement in her nest, Bunty has already uncovered her kittens and Mimi's litter are now big enough to leave home.
So, as well as cleaning out the rabbits, Dan split Mimi's litter into 2 hutches. Unfortunately, one of the young got very scared when being taken away from mum and as a result, jumped out of it's hutch and ran off. Despite Dan's new fitness regime, he wasn't quick enough to catch it again, so no doubt we'll see the little blighter bouncing round the garden in the near future.
Because of the earlier bad weather this year, our bale of straw got very wet and each time we've gone to clean the rabbits out, we've not been able to give our bunnies as much dry straw as we'd like.
Now that the weather is drier and the wind is so strong, Dan opened out the bale of straw in a bid to dry it again. View The Blog Read All Rabbit Stories |
