4th October 2008 - TLC For Turkeys Our injured birds are making a comeback.
Whilst one of them is still not on his feet yet and is dragging a broken wing behind him, he is showing signs of true fighting spirit (if he'd have shown more of it at the start, then he could've fought the bullies off!!)
Although the injured bird is unable to say or do much, he does wink at us with his good eye (or maybe it's just a nervous affliction) and we are taking this as a good sign.
So much so, that he's been given a stay of execution for the time being and we shall monitor his progress closely.
Tracey did think that the bird might benefit from a couple of neurofen and a hot water bottle, but Dan thought that was taking things a little too far, although he did build them a new 'A-frame' shelter and filled it with straw to keep them warm. View The Blog Read All Turkey Stories |
