12th October, 2008 - Dumb & Dumber!!! The morning rounds of feeding livestock includes the pigs, rabbits and "fattening up" chickens.
The turkeys and egg layers are not fed in the mornings - instead, they are unlocked and let out to roam free in their third of an acre pound.
They are coaxed back to the safety of their pen in the evening with a bucket of food.
In the mornings, Gloria, Blanche & Henrietta can't wait to get out and stretch their legs.
The turkeys, however, just want to be fed and we now have to coax them out of their cage to pastures new.
It has to be said that chickens are intelligent and turkeys are stupid!
The chickens have figured out how to get in and out of the doorway, whereas the turkeys are still trying to walk through the netting!!
Some mornings Tracey goes into their cage to help them out in the hope that they follow us around like the Pied Piper, around the pond.
Most of them have now fathomed it out, but one of the black turkeys is particularly dumb and probably not even worthy of ending up with a job in McDonalds!!! View The Blog Read All Turkey Stories |
