24th October, 2008 - Aah, Poor Sox :-( Having previously suffered a phantom pregnancy, we were pleased and somewhat relieved when Sox finally gave birth earlier this month.
Although the runt of the litter was kicked from the nest and did not survive, we were hopeful that the remaining 2 kittens would grow big and strong.
Alas - this was not to be the case.
Tracey noticed one of Sox's babies was laying on it's side and not bouncing around like it should be.
On closer inspection, Dan noticed it's facial features were not normal and the rabbit was clearly suffering from a broken back.
Unable to reach the water or food trays or, indeed, move from it's own "mess", Dan did the kindest thing and put it out of it's misery.
Sad - but natures way. View The Blog Read All Rabbit Stories |
