Dec 07 - The Geese Joined Weight Watchers!

When we first decided to get geese earlier in the year, we decided to earmark one for our friends Dale & Andrew. We knew they were going back to the UK for a family Christmas and we thought it would be nice to give them something special.

As if we hadn't had enough surprises, let downs and disappointments, we were totally gob-smacked when underneath all the goose feathers and down it was not much bigger than a pigeon!

How embarrassing for us - what started out as being a gesture of friendship in early summer, developed into an exchange for a turkey due to our stoat problem.

The turkey we received from Dale & Andrew was well over 20lb, plump, juicy, tender etc and we ended up given them a goose that had less meat on it than a McDonald's chicken nugget!!!

We were extremely grateful for Dale & Andrew's generosity and in 2008 we will find a way to repay our debt.
